Most women, after they turn 30, start to feel that their bodies are not the same as they used to be. Some women’s bodies change a result of their pregnancy, others discover skin imperfections, and others put on couple of extra pounds around their waist. This all happens because after you hit 30 your body goes through a great deal of change, and not just the physical kind.
But don’t worry! We at Bright Side have come up with a list of smart tips on how to take care of your body in your 30s and enjoy this fascinating period of your life to the fullest.
It’s obvious: your body is not the same anymore.
Starting from 30 your metabolism begins to slow down. This doesn’t mean that the second you hit 30, your body will work completely differently, but the upcoming decade will gradually change the way you feel about yourself in general and your body in particular.
In other words…
This is the perfect time for your body to build a greater level of resistance and coordination. So, instead of putting too much effort into improving your body’s strength, it’s better to focus on maintaining your muscle mass.
1. Pay attention to your diet plan.
Since your metabolism slows down and you may gain weight much easier, you should take a closer look at what you eat and how you eat it. Don’t overeat and never skip meals. The best idea is to eat small frequent meals to avoid compulsive snacking which can cause you to gain weight.
2. Sleep well.
Good bedtime habits can bring a lot of benefits to your skin, your body, and your metabolism. Plus, a good night’s sleep is the key to a refreshed, healthy body in the morning.
Some need 6 hours per night, while others need much more. The amount of sleep you need is determined mostly by your body and age, but when it comes to sleeping it’s the quality that matters, not the quantity. Get some exercise before going to bed, don’t eat heavy food, take a warm shower, and read something nice before you sleep. Preferably a book and not your phone.
3. Exercise effectively.
No one says you should almost kill yourself at the gym or spend endless hours exercising. Go with short workout sessions and be persistent.
A study published in the Journal of Physiology showed that exercising for only 30 minutes 4-6 times a week is just as effective as a much longer workout 2-3 times a week. Use this information for your own benefit and dedicate that half-hour to the type of exercise you like.
4. Help your metabolism.
If you pay special attention to your diet, you have probably heard about foods that can speed up your metabolism: chili, tea, broccoli, all kinds of soups, foods high in calcium, etc. Try to introduce them to your new diet plan.

5. Stay well hydrated.
As we all know, hydration is the key to overall health and nice body. It helps you feel better, satisfies your hunger, helps you lose weight by preventing fluid retention, improves your digestion, and maintains a high metabolism. Remember: the more active your metabolism is, the easier it will be for you to lose weight and get your body in shape.
